Recently, the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) made changes to its accreditation logo in accordance to the NSW government. NESA is currently the only state in Australia that accredits professional development providers for teachers which ensures that the opportunities they provide for teachers are aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
Teacher accreditation in NSW is an important process for teachers as it provides a framework for them to continual professional development. Since January 1, 2018, accreditation has been mandatory for all teachers to ensure that every teacher is trained appropriately (see videos).
The former accredited PD logo
has now been changed to the same logo as for the NSW government.
Teachers who are therefore looking for the accreditation logo on professional development providers need to now start looking a bit closer as the new logo bears no reference to education or to NESA in fact too!
