Here is a brief description of what ICT capability means in the Learning Areas of the Australian Curriculum.

It is a requirement of all teachers that they actively TEACH and ASSESS general capabilities within their Learning Area Content.

ICT capability is best developed when students have the opportunity to use specific software that allows for creativity and gives students full control over its tools. The level of decision-making by students also needs to be high for them to promote growth in their higher order  skills.
